I'm an avid listener of Ptr. Ed Lapiz, whether it be in his Day by Day Christian Ministries broadcast in DZAS or thru his videos . I am always blessed with his messages and I appreciate how he use words and phrases that are easily understood by people. No beating around the bush. Just pure word of God.  

Last Father's day, my brother gifted my dad with Ed Lapiz' books, one of which is "Peace". And since my EQ is relatively low haha, I didn't wait for my dad to finish all of the books. I took "Peace" from my dad and devoured it in one sitting. I like how he uses mostly Tagalog in the book. Hindi nakaka-nosebleed. :) The book is easily relatable as it pokes humor on everyday thoughts and Filipino culture.   I'm pretty sure even a gradeschooler would appreciate it.




"Don't kill yourself with worry...Don't fast-forward life's concerns. Ano ang katuruan nang Panginoon? Binibigyan kita nang lakas para sa mga ipinapagawa ko sa iyo ngayon. Kaya ka nanghihina ay dahil ang ibinibigay ko sa iyong lakas na pang-ngayon ay pina-fastforward mo para sa problema sa miyerkules, next month, next year. Ang turo niya sa Matt 6:11, "Give us today our daily bread." Kung ano lang ang kailangan, yun lang ang ibibigay sa atin"


"The Lord didn't say, "Don't think or plan." Ang sabi niya, "Don't worry." It's good to think and it's good to plan, but not to the point of worrying. You don't plant a seed and then dig it to see if it is growing. You keep planting and trusting the God of the harvests who will make it grow."

Peace is everything. That's why the Lord says, "Peace I leave with you." Ano ang peace ni Lord? Ipinako siya with six-inch nails. Inilubog sa kanyang kamay, litid, balat at buto pero payapang nanalangin at di niya sinabing, "Mamatay sana kayo!" Hindi yun ang panalangin niya. Sabi niya, "Forgive them". Yan ang, "My peace I give to you." This kind of peace is not dependent on nice things only. This kind of peace is not dependent on people's goodness. It is not a product of environment. It is a product of his being himself no matter what is around him."

"Don't mistake activities for achievement. You don't always achieve when you're active. Sometimes you do more by not doing anything at all. Sabi nang Lord, "Be still and know that I am God." Pag nagawa na natin ang kaya nating gawin, e di tama na. Hanggang doon na lang tayo. Sabihin natin, "Lord, it'd your turn now. I will be still and let me see you move as God. Minsan kasi, you're simply too busy. Kumilos na ang Dios pero hindi nyo pa napapansin dahil akala nyo'y kayo ang gumawa. Kung kayo'y mananahimik, malalaman ninyo na ang dios and kumilos, at hindi tayo. Much sweeter is the recognition of God's goodwill."
